In March 2005 Tony Barnard undertook the Everest Wilderness Trek by climbing 13,000 feet up to Tengboche Monastery in Nepal.

In April 2008 Tony returned to Nepal to undertake the Everest Base Camp Adventure by trekking to Everest Base Camp at 18,500 feet, once again fundraising for The British Heart Foundation. The two treks between them raised about £10,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
